This morning, while approaching Camp Stonewall to work on a few maintenance projects, two whitetails crossed Cutman Drive in front of me (Norman). A bit later, while gazing out the front door of the cabin, I noticed movement of something fairly sizable in the woods. Soon a wild turkeymaterialized which entertained me with its strutting (complete with fanned tail and fancy movements) and gobbling. Shortly thereafter a pair of bluebirds inspected the birdhouse on the deck of the cabin - well the female was intent on inspection while the male stood guard on the railing. So it was a great morning even if I needed to call in a plumber to repair piping under the kitchen sink and if I needed to work too hard raking leaves!
